In 1948, when buying readymade pickles, masalas or spices was a far-fetched thought, Our Ajji Smt Kamlabai Bhat, a visionary lady decided to start a small enterprise from her own kitchen. The idea was to sell traditional Maharashtrian essentials such as pickles, spices and masalas made with utmost purity and quality at a reasonable price. This enterprise was named K-Pra , after Keshav Laxmi the presiding deity of the Bhat family.

It’s been almost seven decades, and K-Pra is now one of the most loved Maharashtrian food brands with consumers all across the globe. K-Pra’s range boasts of a host of popular products catering to pan-India tastes.

Today, we manufacture, supply, export and retail a diverse product range including Masala, Pickles, Powder, Chutney, Upwas (food for fasting) products. Our products are manufactured at our state- of- the- art factory at Shirval near Pune with a production capacity of half a million packages per day.

Even though the production method has changed with time, K-Pra’s recipes haven’t. Every K-Pra product is made with the same love using the same recipe that our founder, our Ajji passed on to us. Infact it is our belief that ‘Aai chya hatchya jevanachi chav, ha Ajji kadun milale swadishta varsa ahe’ ( The food that our Mother makes, is a tasty legacy passed on to her from our grandmother )

This belief has held us in good stead for the past 68 years. Today K-Pra reaches millions of kitchens and pantries monthly all over the world. K- Pra exports 50 different products to three different continents. We have a large consumer base the USA, UK, Australia and the Middle-East where a large number of Indians depend on K-Pra for their daily dose of home food.  

K-Pra Foods is now a professional run entity where a team of 150 qualified and dedicated employees strive to ensure that every package is sent out with the same love and care as Ajji would have done.  

K-Pra’s products have satisfied millions of taste buds over the years and it will continue to do so. The unique taste of our products comes from the fact that none of our recipes are formulations developed in a lab. These truly are the same recipes our Ajji passed on to us and that are why all our products are made using only natural ingredients, just the way she did.

Our recently revamped packaging is an ode to our Ajji’s masterful culinary skills. It is our way of reliving ‘Memories of Ajji’ and her delightful recipes. Each one of our packages also gives a quick peek into some of Ajji’s kitchen secrets.
